What If It’s Melania?

The Epstein files will tell many stories—the first lady’s story could be one

There are many people who believe the smoking gun in the Epstein files isn’t pointed at Trump so much at his wife. Or put another way, Trump can take care of himself. Despite the girlfriend he shared with Epstein, the girls they pursued and abused together, and at least one vocal Epstein victim who also claimed to be Trump’s girlfriend, he’ll call it a hoax, and, in the manner of all his past scandals, at least try to bluff and bluster his way through it.

But Melania may not be so self-reliant.

The nature of Trump’s relationship with his wife is yet one more of the glaring mysteries of the Trump rise to power. We do not know where she lives, what she sees as her function, if any, as the first lady, nor if her ambitions are strictly Garbo-esq, as her husband has suggested, or on a level of avarice, as her Amazon documentary deal might indicate, with the rest of the Trump family—everybody in it for their own account.
